My husband on his 29th birthday

Eric and I took a day off from work yesterday to celebrate his birthday and spend time together.  It was nice to have a day sans computers.  We ran some errands, went to Showcase, popped into a thrift store, did the “Taqueria drive by” (lunch line was waaaaay too long, as usual), and ended up at Six Feet Under on the westside.  Had some yummy fried catfish, grits, corn on the cob… and shared a ginormous piece of apple pie à la mode.

Eric is not a huge fan of sweets, but I made him some celebratory cupcakes anyway (like we needed more junk food after that lunch), and he took the majority of them into the office today.  Thank goodness for that because I would have single-handedly eaten them all.  :-)

To wrap up the day, we took advantage of the soft afternoon window light and made a few portraits.  Here are a couple.  Ah, I love his eyes… {{{swoooon}}}.

Happy birthday, baby!  I love you!

  • What a neat idea for the birthday. All adults should their bdays off and just have a great day with their spouse. The images you got are great!
  • Sounds like a wonderful birthday! What a handsome hubby you have there. :)
  • Happy birthday! Great shots!
  • Sonja Pruitt
    Awesome shots...
  • Ha! I swear we gave up on making plans to eat there b/c of the lines... but we occasionally do the 'drive-by'... if the line is not out the door, we squeal with joy and pull in to park. :) I'm addicted to the roasted chicken enchilada with lemon cream sauce. So good!
  • Wow! What a handsome guy! Happy day to you guys!
  • Yummy!!! I love the chowder... making me want to run there for lunch right now. Only I do not have 3 hours to spend on lunch today. :)
  • Happy birthday to Eric! Taqueria del Sol is one of my very very favorite places but the line will get ya every time!
  • Yep............that's my boy!
    Great work Amanda!

Glad that you guys got a chance to chill for a change.
